Accuro Employee successfully solo swims 45 miles.
On 13 August 2017 James Salkeld, an employee with Accuro Jersey, completed an arduous solo swim around the Island of Jersey (a distance of 45 miles). This extraordinary endeavour was part of the Jersey Round Island Challenge which is an event run in aid of the Grace Crocker Support Foundation, a charity which provides support to families with sick children in need of medical treatment.
James had to battle jelly fish and cold waters to complete the event in a phenomenal time of 10 hours and 36 minutes.
Paul Douglas, Managing Director of Accuro Jersey, said: “We are all delighted for James - this is an amazing achievement. He set himself this target some time ago and has been working towards it through consistent and dedicated training. That has certainly paid off with his amazing time for completing this ultra-distance event. He has also done so by supporting a very worthy cause, helping to raise awareness and funds for the Grace Crocker Support Foundation in the process.”
