Record participants and crowds at the Accuro Jersey Triathlon
Accuro is delighted to have continued its sponsorship of the 2017 Jersey triathlon which took place on Sunday the 9th July.
The event was a roaring success with record numbers of participants and spectators alike. Victories came from Island games medalists Dan Halksworth and Jo Gorrod winning the men's and women's Olympic distance event. Aside from the elite athletes a third of the entrants were competing in their first triathlon, reflecting the growing popularity of the sport.
Accuro also had its own teams in the men's and mixed relays with its best team placing of 4th overall.
A huge thanks to the organizers 3D Events, the volunteers, honorary police and marshalls for enabling the event to remain a leading fixture on the sporting calendar.
The event supports the Oscar Maclean Foundation, a very worthy charity that supports community projects and services in Jersey for children suffering with cancer and other chronic diseases.
Paul Douglas - Managing Director of Accuro Jersey said: "This year the event exceeded its own high standards. Good weather and a high quality field resulted in many of the course records being broken. It was wonderful to see that almost a third of the entrants were from outside of Jersey showing that the international allure it continues to enjoy . What attracts us to the event is the fact that it appeals to families across generations. This is aligned with our business being in the private client space working with generations of families. We are delighted to continue with our sponsorship for the event which raises funds for the Oscar Maclean Foundation"
